Acropolis Mall, which has remained closed since a fire broke out there on June 14, will reopen on August 3, the mall authorities said on Tuesday.
An official said nearly 90 per cent of the mall would reopen, barring a few retailers like Hoppipola, Chili’s and Time Zone, which will reopen after a few days.
Crossword, the bookstore where the fire broke, will remain closed, too.
Cinepolis and the food court will be operational from August 3.
"We received the fire department's permission on July 29 and have been working tirelessly to prepare for the reopening since," said Subhadip Basu, general manager, Acropolis Mall.
No one was injured in the fire.
The building, Acropolis, is divided into two sections. The mall is from the ground floor to the fourth floor. The floors from fifth to 20th have space for offices. The floors housing offices, which has a separate power connection that was unaffected by the fire, had reopened on June 25.
"Almost 90 per cent of the mall will reopen. Some retailers like Hoppipola, Chili’s and Time Zone will reopen after a few days," Basu said.
