Indian Railways handed over the gifts to Bangladesh to help the neighbour handle more passengers and freight.

External affairs minister S. Jaishankar and railway minister Piyush Goyal were among those who attended the virtual event.

“Our bilateral relationship today is at its very best,” said Goyal. Bangladesh foreign minister A.K. Abdul Momen agreed “we are indeed enjoying the best of relations”. Momen also referred to the transhipment of goods from Calcutta to Northeast through the Chittagong port.
