Decomposed body
The decomposed body of a bank employee was recovered from a house in ward 6 of Mathabhanga in Cooch Behar district on Wednesday.
Sources said Utpal Sonowal, 40, from Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, worked at the local branch of a nationalised bank and stayed in a rented house.
As Sonowal didn’t go to the bank for two days, two employees were sent to his home to check why. When Sonowal did not respond, the employees informed police who broke open the door. He was found dead with blood on his body. The body’s condition indicated he died some days ago.
