Fresh pugmarks of a tigress and its cub have been spotted on the banks of a waterbody at Ghatshila near the Jharkhand-Bengal border and a lake in West Midnapore’s Belpahari, forest department officers said on Sunday.
Residents of the Fuljhari village that is around 5km away from the Belpahari forest have told officials that a cow has gone missing from their village. One more cow has injuries on the body, but it hasn’t been confirmed if they were inflicted by a tiger.
Camera traps are being placed in and around the areas where the pugmarks have been spotted, a forester said.
