Kovind’s visit has drawn political and administrative attention as many have felt that the panel led by him may submit its report on the proposed simultaneous elections for the Lok Sabha and Assemblies across the country before the Lok Sabha polls.

The panel’s next meeting is scheduled for February 10.

In Bengal, Trinamul is unhappy about simultaneous general and Assembly polls.
