The Eastern Zonal Council meeting that was deferred for an indefinite period because of the unavailability of Union home minister Amit Shah will be held on December 17.
“The MHA has informedNabanna that the EasternZonal Council meeting that was scheduled to be held on November 5 will now be conducted on December 17. The state government will ensure that all arrangements are ready for the meeting,” said a senior official.
In the eastern zonal council, chief ministers of Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odishadiscuss common problems with the Union home minister.
“Issues related to inter-state borders, railways and coal mines which are common issues among these states are discussed in this meeting. This year also issues like eastern freight corridor are likely to come up in the meeting,” said a senior official.
The meeting of the eastern zonal council is drawing the attention of political and administrative circles as Mamata Banerjee and Amit Shah will be present at a meeting. “
