Defamation case: Three CPM leaders summoned

A court in Calcutta has summoned CPM leaders Biman Bose, Md Salim and Shatarup Ghosh in a defamation case filed by Trinamul spokesperson Kunal Ghosh.

The CPM leaders were asked to appear before the19th metropolitan magistrate at the Bankshall Court on June 13.

Ghosh had filed the case, alleging Shatarup had insulted his parents at a news conference on March 28.

The news conference was held at the CPM's state headquarters at Alimuddin Street, and hence, according to Ghosh, Bose and Salim were also responsible. Bose is a resident of the Alimuddin Street office. Salim is the state CPM secretary.
