Army personnel carry the body of jawan Bappaditya Khutia —who died in an accident in Ladakh, along with six colleagues on May 27 — for last rites at Kharagpur in West Midnapore on Sunday.
Seven soldiers had died and several others had suffered injuries after a vehicle carrying them had skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge near the Shyok river in Ladakh on Friday.
Khutia’s mortal remains arrived at his Kharagpur home on Sunday. Apart from Khutia’s family members, hundreds of people gathered to pay their last respect to the deceased soldier.
