Culinary awards for local chefs in north Bengal and Sikkim

Named 'Culinary Superstar, 2024', the event will be the first of its kind in this region

An exclusive award show for chefs based in north Bengal and Sikkim will be hosted in Siliguri on July 27.

Named “Culinary Superstar, 2024”, the event will be the first of its kind in this region.

“Siliguri, a vibrant city in the state, has been gaining recognition for its strategic location as well as for its rich and diverse culinary scene. Through the culinary award event, we intend to felicitate and recognize those talents who serve gastronomic delights in different places in the city and also in other parts of north Bengal and the neighbouring state of Sikkim,” said one of the organisers.

According to him, around 50 persons from north Bengal and Sikkim who work in different places, from street stalls to five-star hotels, along with the hospitality and tourism industry, will be honoured.

“The culinary award ceremony will be a significant event to honour local chefs, restaurants, and culinary artisans who have contributed to the region’s food culture,” he added.

Today, the organisers also released a poster of the event that will be held next Saturday.

World Brain Day

The Neotia Getwel Multispeciality Hospital at Uttarayon in Siliguri organised World Brain Day on the theme “Brain Health and Prevention” at the hospital premises on Sunday.

Different aspects of neurological disorders were elaborated on at the event to impart awareness among people on the prevention of illnesses.

“Doctors of the hospital were there to elaborate on some important aspects related to different brain diseases and ways to keep our brain healthy. People got a chance to interact extensively with them,” said a source at the hospital.
