The CPM has reeled off a list of questions for Mamata Banerjee’s “Didi Ke Bolo (Tell Didi)” phone-and-Internet outreach initiative.
Sources at Alimuddin Street — the CPM state headquarters — said the comrades would use the handle to embarrass Mamata.
The CPM has crafted the questionnaire for Mamata and her party and flooded social media with the posers.
“We want to reach out to the people that this corporate-like initiative is a complete lie. We have already begun our campaign on social media, through our official Facebook page and Twitter handles. Our comrades will also campaign offline in their localities,” said CPM central committee member Rabin Deb.
Some of the questions the CPM is raising through social media are:
- When you came to power in 2011, the state’s debt burden was Rs 1.92 lakh crore. In the year 2019-20, it stands at Rs 3.95 lakh crore. How and why?
- You had promised your electorate 2 lakh jobs per year. Where are they? There has been no recruitment at the government level and the SSC/TET lists are replete with the names of relatives of Trinamul leaders.
- In your Martyrs’ Day speech (on July 21) this year, you called for a return to democracy. But isn’t it you who should be spearheading such initiatives. Then why did you resort to such violence during the 2018 rural polls? Why was the Opposition not allowed to file nominations for the polls?
Left legislature party leader said “there is a fallacy in this corporatised initiative drawn up to attract public eye on her so-called eagerness to reach out to the masses”.
“Didi Ke Bolo has Didi nowhere. She has set up a steering committee of five party leaders who would handle the issues to get resolved. Then what about if you have complaints against them or areas concerning these leaders. Didi still remains unapproachable,” the Jadavpur MLA added.
