The CPM has launched an initiative that seeks information from people on local Trinamul Congress leaders who might possess properties whose value is high compared to their known sources of income.

The initiative, which comes in the aftermath of the Bogtui carnage, has been named Paharaye Public (People on the guard).

“The Bogtui killings have put Trinamul on the backfoot. This is an opportunity for us to unmask the ruling party and simultaneously gain grounds amongst those who are disillusioned with Mamata Banerjee and her government,” a CPM leader said.

The CPM said the identity and details of the informant would be kept under wraps.

A member of the CPM’s digital team said the informant could visit the Left Squad website and enter details on the Paharaye Public page. “The page will lead to a form, which has to be filled up with the personal details of the complainant and the accused Trinamul leader before it is submitted. Any corresponding visual evidence can be emailed at cpimdigital@gmail.com,” he added.
