Prior to the rise since Friday, the total of active cases had fallen from 37,190 on October 26 last year to 3,110.

“This is now beginning to look less like an aberration, given six consecutive days of rise. However, the rise over the six days has only been by a total of 78. There still are enough positives, so there is no need yet to be alarmist,” said a minister.
