The Nadia district administration formed a three-member team to probe the alleged “negligence and apathy” of a doctor at the SNR Carnival Hospital in Kalyani that allegedly led to the death of a Covid patient without treatment on Saturday.
The SNR Carnival Hospital is a Covid-designated hospital.

A top official of the district administration said the JNM hospital’s medical superintendent would lead the inquiry team.
“The team will visit the Covid hospital on Tuesday and summon the doctor for her version. The complainant (hospital employee Sritama Deb) and all other persons present will be questioned,” said the official, terming the incident as “most unfortunate”.
