A poster outside Debasree's residence in Raiganj Picture by Koushik Sen
The North Dinajpur district administration pasted “home quarantine” posters outside the residence of Union minister of state for women and child welfare and Raiganj BJP MP Debasree Chaudhuri here on Monday late evening.
In the posters, it has been mentioned that Chaudhuri has been under home quarantine since March 31 to April 13, that is, for a period of 14 days.
Chaudhuri had stopped officials and health workers to put such posters a few days ago.
The MP, who had reached Raiganj on March 31, went out on April 2 to distribute masks among people to prevent contraction of the novel coronavirus and even helped many wear the masks. She was then accused of jumping the home quarantine and flouting the social distance norm.
Since Chaudhuri had returned from Delhi to Calcutta on March 23, she should have been under the quarantine till April 6.
Asked about the posters, Raiganj block development officer Raju Lama said: “She had reached here from Calcutta on March 31. Accordingly, the posters have been put and the period of home quarantine is till April 13.”
