CM: I have no plan to meet PM

The conclave on the pendency of cases in courts is slated to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister

Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said she had not sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during her trip to Delhi to attend a conference of high court chief justices and chief ministers on April 30 as she wanted to return to Calcutta soon after the conclave.

“I have to attend the Eid al-Fitr (scheduled for May 2-3) gathering at Red Road... Besides, I have to be here on May Day. So, this time, I did not seek an appointment (with the PM),” said the chief minister, a day before flying off to Delhi.

“I will request them to release me early so that I can come back on the 30th itself,” she added.

The conclave on the pendency of cases in courts is slated to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. and Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana will also be present.
