A 4-year-old child died on Wednesday after allegedly being hit by Trinamul Congress (TMC) MP, Abu Taher Khan’s car in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal, according to media reports.

The child was injured after the car hit him and he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

According to the primary information, Taher Khan was present inside the car when the accident took place. The minister said that the child had come in front of the car.

"The child suddenly came in front of our vehicle. A small child, he was five or six. We rushed him to the hospital. It happened in front of me. Maybe he suffered a brain injury," Khan told reporters outside the hospital.

At the hospital, the child's parents broke down in front of doctors, devastated by their immeasurable loss.
