Chief minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to visit Delhi next week and hold some important meetings, sources in Nabanna said, adding that the final schedule would be released soon.

Sources in the Trinamul Congress said the MPs of the party had been informed that Mamata would reach Delhi on Monday, but the date could be changed as the budget was scheduled to be tabled in the Assembly on Tuesday.

“The chief minister can also reach Delhi on Tuesday after the budget's presentation," said a source.

Sources in Nabanna said Mamata was likely to attend an important meeting on Wednesday, but the details had not been divulged yet.

“The visit holds significance. The chief minister can hold a meeting with the Prime Minister over the dues under several central schemes. She can also hold a meeting with Sonia Gandhi as the possibility of a pre-poll alliance between the Congress and Trinamul has hit a roadblock. But nothing is clear yet,” said a source.

Mamata, the sources said, can also attend a meeting on One Nation One Election proposal over which she has strong reservations.
