The central agency summoned former director-ranked officer Sunil Kumar Jha of the ECL and CISF inspector Anand Singh posted at the ECL for interrogation at the CBI headquarters on Thursday. Sources said the two were accused of taking money from coal smugglers to ensure the latter could steal unhindered the fosil fuel from the ECL mines in Asansol.

Sources in the CBI said that during the course of investigation they found the duo's involvement in the crime and collected information against them. "During interrogation they failed to answer several questions and avoided many. They didn't cooperate with our probe," said a CBI officer.
