At least four groups of migrant labourers walking on the railway tracks on the Bengal-Odisha border have had their home-ward journey cut short since Saturday, railway officials said.
South Eastern Railway, under whose jurisdiction the tracks are, has issued a statement, saying four different groups found walking on the tracks have been stopped since Saturday.
“The labourers were taken to nearest stations and provided with food and water by RPF personnel and railway staff,” said an official.
