A man has been arrested for allegedly cheating a lawyer of Rs 40 lakh by promising him a job in the CBI, police said.

Biswajit Chatterjee, the lawyer from Baranagar, lodged a complaint against Krishanu Mandal, a resident of Baguiati, on Sunday.

“The accused had allegedly provided Chatterjee a fake appointment letter and a forged identity card,” said an officer of Baranagar police station.
