A 27-year-old postgraduate trainee was found hanging in her hostel room at R Ahmed Dental College and Hospital in Sealdah on Thursday afternoon, police said.

Manasi Mondal, from Purulia, was doing her postgraduation in maxilo-facial surgery.

Police have found a purported suicide note, in which she expressed her gratitude to her parents and mentioned that she had not met her husband for several months. Her husband was posted in Bangalore but he has been staying in Purulia for a few months, an officer said.

“It appears to be a case of suicide. However, we will wait for the post-mortem report,” said a police officer.
