Children can paint, write poetry, learn a musical instrument, record a video of their daily activities or make a film and send it to the state child rights commission, to be uploaded on its website.

The West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights is conducting an online creative writing, drawing and video film-making competition for children, called Corona Diary.

Participants aged three to 18 can mail their entries to wbscpcr@gmail.com or WhatsApp to 9836300300. The last date of submission is April 15.

The word limit for creative writing is 250 words, drawings must be on A4-sized paper and the duration for the video clip is two minutes.

The best 10 writings and drawings will be published in the commission’s children’s magazine Hullor.

“The children are stuck at home. This time can be used doing other activities that could keep them creatively occupied,” said Mahuya Santra, consulting editor of the commission.
