Rosedale Garden near Karigari Bhavan in Action Area III, will allow car cleaners and drivers from Monday.

Ranjan Basu, the president of the building’s residents’ association, said the restrictions would be lifted in a staggered way. “We decided to begin with drivers and car cleaners as they mostly use the common areas,” he said.

“We have advised the residents to ask the cleaners not to wash the interiors of the vehicles. We have requested them to call their drivers only when needed,” Basu said.

An online poll has been initiated among the residents to find out if house help should be allowed. The residents’ association will take a decision based on the feedback.

The secretary of Anahita Housing Complex in New Town’s Action Area II, Anirban Choudhury, said the wife of a guard has been asked to make cloth masks and shower caps for the help. A wash-basin has been installed at the gate and the guard’s office has been provided with sanitisers. “Whoever steps in first washes their hands. As an additional precaution, one can also use the sanitisers kept in the guard’s room,” Choudhury said.

Help and drivers entering Greenwood Elements near City Centre II will have their temperature checked with infrared thermometers. Flat owners have been asked to submit the addresses of their help, to check if anyone lives in a containment zone.

“We have made masks mandatory for all,” said Arnab Basu the secretary of the residents’ welfare association.

Residents of Tata Eden Court will only let drivers report for work. “They have to wait outside,” said Devjani Gupta, an office-bearer of the association.
