Several cash collection centres of CESC remained shut on Wednesday because of poor network, officials of the power utility said.
A resident of an apartment in Kasba found one such centre, near the Siemens bus stop on the Kasba-Rashbehari Avenue connector, shut.
The 70-year-old man had gone to the centre to pay his bill on Tuesday, but he returned seeing a long queue. “When I went there again on Wednesday, the shutters were down and there was a notice outside that the operations had been suspended,” he said.
A CESC official said many cash collection centres remained close on Wednesday as there were network problems. “We kept the cash collection centres in our regional offices open,” the official said.
