Calcutta High Court halts CID’s cattle probe

The order comes two days after Justice Rajasekhar Mantha of the high court restrained the CID from investigating the coal smuggling case

Calcutta High Court on Thursday passed an interim order that restrained the CID from probing into alleged cattle smuggling as the CBI had been investigating the case.

The interim order was passed by a division bench headed by Chief Justice Prakash Srivastava. The order comes two days after Justice Rajasekhar Mantha of the high court restrained the CID from investigating the coal smuggling case.
