BSF nabs Bangladeshi 'smugglers'

The force also carried out drives along the borders to check smuggling on Sunday and seized various contraband items worth Rs 5.80 lakh

The Border Security Force apprehended four alleged Bangladeshi smugglers, including a minor, from two locations along the frontier on Sunday.

Sources said the 137 battalion of the BSF posted at Chakgopal border outpost in South Dinajpur district intercepted Swapan Oraw and a 12-year-old minor while they were trying to infiltrate into India.

Both are residents of Rajshahi district in Bangladesh. The BSF said the two were smugglers.

The sixth battalion of the BSF deployed at Arjun border outpost in Jalpaiguri district caught two alleged Bangladeshi smugglers from the border.

The duo were Khokan Mulla and Jomila Begum, who hail from Narail district of the neighbouring country.

The BSF also carried out drives along the borders to check smuggling on Sunday and seized various contraband items worth Rs 5.80 lakh, said the sources.
