Sources said there would be more changes soon with the state leadership deciding to remove the presidents of least 50 per cent of its 39 organisational districts.

“The process has just begun. We could reach a consensus on the names for eight districts last night. More changes are on the cards,” a senior state BJP functionary told The Telegraph.

According to him, after the first round of meetings to review the Lok Sabha poll results, the leadership was unhappy with the performance of a few organisational district presidents and decided to bring in new faces to bolster the party in the run up to the Assembly elections.

The sources said the leadership had decided that no Union ministers and MPs would be given organisational duties and responsibilities. “The only exception is Dilip-da, otherwise, the two Union ministers and other MPs would not get involved in daily organisational activities,” the BJP functionary said.
