Justice Suvra Ghosh of Calcutta High Court on Tuesday granted bail to Trinamool Congress youth wing leader Santanu Banerjee in the Enforcement Directorate’s case on alleged corruption in school recruitments.

Justice Ghosh allowed the CBI’s prayer. So Banerjee will continue to be in custody till he gets bail in the CBI case.
The ED investigators arrested Banerjee on March 10, 2023, after several hours of interrogation.
Banerjee was said to be a close associate of Kuntal Ghosh, accused in the same case who was last week granted bail by the same court.
Earlier, while granting bail to Banerjee, Justice Ghosh had asked him to furnish a personal bond of ₹10 lakh with the subordinate court and cooperate with the ED. The judge also asked him not to change his contact number without prior permission from the court.
In the past 10 days, at least seven key accused in the school recruitment case have got bail from different courts.
