Bengal on Thursday reported 280 new Covid-19 infections, 203 recoveries and one death.

There are currently 2,027 active cases in the state, including 78 in hospitals. The state’s recovery rate was 98.89 per cent and mortality rate 1.02 per cent on Thursday.

On a day when 8,776 samples were tested, case positivity rate stood at 3.19 per cent.

Since the pandemic broke out in 2020, the state has recorded 21,10,232 cases, of which 20,86,719 have recovered and 21,486 fatalities have died. Total precaution (booster) doses administered stood at 14,701,983, with 50,803 given on Thursday.
