Bengal on Saturday reported 71 new Covid-19 infections, 111 recoveries and zero deaths, resulting in a drop in total active cases by 40 to 1,502.

The positive confirmation rate was 0.34 per cent on Saturday. The positive confirmation rate has been below 1 per cent for 23 consecutive days.

This was 43 consecutive days of the state reporting a positive confirmation rate of less than 5 per cent in a 24-hour period. A positive confirmation rate of up to 5 per cent is considered tolerable.
