Saiful Islam, a 25-year-old youth hailing from Comilla district of Bangladesh, is walking from Dhaka to Darjeeling to impart awareness on nature conservation, personal hygiene and health care.
Saiful, a graduate, will cover around 800km by foot.
On Friday, he reached Raiganj where he spoke with people and apprised them about the need to keep oneself healthy and also work to conserve nature.
In 2020, he had taken a similar initiative and covered around 1,000km across his own country. From Dhaka, he started his journey on October 7 and entered India through Benapole-Petrapole.
“I believe I would be able to finish my walk by the end of this month,” said Saiful.

Convocation of IIEST, Shibpur
