A hydraulic rerailing equipment (HRE) van, “Bahubali”, has been introduced at the Alipurduar division of Northeast Frontier Railway.

The van will be stationed at the New Cooch Behar station.

Railway officials said that the van will be useful to restore minor derailments at roadside stations and in the case of other yard accidents.

The vehicle is equipped with almost all necessary HRE equipment to restore minor to medium-range derailments.

It can move independently to reach all the roadside stations and can facilitate quick restoration work, a railway source said.
