An army truck fell into a stream in the western Dooars on Monday morning while it was heading to Sevoke Military Station from the Binnaguri army cantonment.
The truck driver and two army personnel were injured in the accident. They have been admitted to a field hospital of the army.
Sources said the accident occurred when the truck was heading to the bridge of the Rungdung, a hilly stream flowing close to Mongpong near Sevoke, around 25 kilometres from Siliguri. The driver lost control of the truck and the vehicle went off the road and fell into the stream which swelled because of rains.
Army personnel rushed to the spot, along with a team from Mongpong police outpost that is in Kalimpong district.
The trio were rescued and admitted to hospital. Later, a recovery van was engaged to take the truck out of the stream.
