Tollywood actor Rudranil Ghosh, known for his proximity to the Trinamul Congress, on Monday criticised Mamata Banerjee and her party over the “cut money” controversy, a day after his absence from the Martyrs’ Day rally.
“She (Mamata) herself brought cut money into the lexicon and people have been returning money every day. That is creating a perception in the people that this party clearly — perhaps — runs on cut money,” he said in an interview to ABP Ananda.
Trinamul secretary-general Partha Chatterjee said the party would listen to what Ghosh had to say. “He is not going anywhere. We will listen to him and take his opinion.”
