A 35-year-old man was murdered by his neighbour at Gabgachhi-Jadupur in Malda on Wednesday night.
Officials of English Bazar police station said Sanat Pal, the victim, was stabbed many times by his neighbour Shyam Ghosh and succumbed to his injuries.
Sources said Ghosh had a heated exchange with his wife, leaving the neighbours perturbed. Pal asked them to reconcile and stop the quarrel. This made Ghosh furious and he caught hold of a knife and stabbed Pal multiple times. He also attacked another person.
Locals rushed for help and took the duo to Malda Medical College and Hospital where Ghosh died. The other person is still under treatment.
