Bengal on Saturday reported 263 new Covid-19 infections, 214 recoveries and one death.

Currently, there are 1,959 active cases in the state: 1,887 in home isolation and 72 in hospitals, according to a state bulletin. The state’s recovery rate was 98.89 per cent and mortality rate 1.02 per cent on Saturday. Case positivity rate was 3.17 per cent on a day 8,306 samples were tested. Since the pandemic broke out in 2020, the state has so far recorded 21,09,090 cases, 20,85,649 recoveries and 21,482 fatalities.
