Bengal on Wednesday reported 2,455 new Covid-19 infections, 3,019 recoveries and six deaths.
Case positivity rate stood at 15.47 per cent on a day 15,870 samples were tested. Currently, there are 28,399 active cases in the state: 27,766 in home isolation and 633 in hospitals, according to the state bulletin.
The state’s recovery rate was 97.61 per cent and mortality rate 1.03 per cent on Wednesday.
Since the pandemic broke out in 2020, the state has recorded 20,77,005 cases. Of the cases reported, 20,27,312 have made full recoveries and 21,294 deaths were recorded.
In light of the recent uptick in cases, booster doses being administered in the state have also increased. So far, 59,14,919 booster doses have been administered in Bengal. Also, 4,75,881 Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered in the state on Wednesday.
