Victory at the Paris Olympics has "a special taste", said Algerian boxer Imane Khelif after winning boxing gold on August 10, following two weeks of speculation over her eligibility amid a gender dispute that has engulfed the Games.

On August 2, when Italian boxer Angela Carini gave up her boxing match against Khelif in just 45 seconds, the bout immediately invited bullying and online abuse for Khelif. Internet called her a 'biological male playing in a women's event, with undue advantage'. Turns out, the internet was wrong...
