He has signed a six-year deal for an initial $22m. The Turkish international has now made it clear he has no plans to leave on loan as his priority has always been to don the white shirt.

“I think I'm ready to play here and I do not want to go on loan. If Real Madrid give me the opportunity to play, I want to take advantage of it. Going on loan is not in my plans," Guler, who made the move from Turkish team Fenerbahce, told reporters on Friday.

Guler also revealed that he has been following Madrid for a long time and wants to emulate the heroics of former stars such as Guti and Ronaldo.

PSG splurge

Paris St Germain have signed Uruguay international Manuel Ugarte, 22, from Sporting Lisbon for $65.32 million, with the defensive midfielder signing a five-year contract, the two clubs said on Friday.

A prodigy who made his first-team debut for hometown club CA Fenix at the age of 15, Ugarte moved to Portugal to play for Famalicao before being snapped up by Sporting.

PSG also signed Milan Skriniar on a free transfer after his contract with Inter Milan expired in June.

Skriniar joined Inter from Sampdoria in 2017 and made nearly 250 appearances in Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup during his time at the club. He also has 60 caps for Slovakia.
