Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been fined Rs 12 lakh after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their match against Kings XI Punjab in Dubai on Thursday. RCB were thrashed by 97 runs.
“As it was his team’s first offence of the season, under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Kohli was fined Rs 12 lakh,” the IPL said in a release.
Kohli had a forgettable outing at the Dubai International Stadium. While he dropped two catches off centurion KL Rahul, which proved to be costly, he also could not contribute anything substantial with the willow.
