Maharashtra under-19 girls retained the team title breezing past Haryana 3-0 on the third day of the 85th UTT Inter-State Youth and Junior National Table Tennis Championships being held at the Netaji Indoor Stadium on Monday.

Maharashtra's Pritha Vartikar, Sayani Wali and Taneesha Kotecha always had the upper hand.

Vartikar, the Pune girl, beat Prithoki Chakraborti 3-1 in the first rubber.

In a major setback to Haryana, Suhana Saini lost 3-2 to Wani in the second rubber.

Kotecha then got the better of left-handed Saanvi Dargan.

Dargan, with her peculiar service style, confused Taneesha initially, but the Maharashtra player stuck to her game to emerge winner.

In the semi-finals, Maharashtra accounted for Delhi 3-1, while Haryana edged past Gujarat 3-2.
