Buoyed by their stunning victory over Bangladesh, Scotland will be keen to keep the momentum going when they take on Papua New Guinea in their second game of the T20 World Cup qualifiers in Al Amerat on Tuesday.

Chris Greaves’ magnificent all-round display that saw him hit a 28-ball 45 before snaring two crucial wickets helped Scotland record a six-run win over Bangladesh in their opening game on Sunday, while debutants Papua New Guinea were handed a 10-wicket thrashing by Oman in their opener.

But still, Scotland stay cautious and aren’t looking too far ahead. “We are trying to keep our feet on the ground and not looking too far ahead,” all-rounder Michael Leask said on Monday.

“That said, everyone in our team believes we can make the Super 12. We are so together at the moment and that keeps us in a good headspace,” he said.
