Calcutta: Trainers Bharath Singh, Pesi Shroff and Imtiaz Sait were suspended by the RCTC stewards, on Friday, following the pending inquiries, pertaining to the failed dope tests, it was learnt. Bharath has been stood down for three months after his filly’s, Silverina’s, urine was tested with the traces of ‘Atenolol,’ following her victory in the Calcutta Oaks, on December 22 last year. Sait and Shroff, each was handed a month’s suspension as their respective wards; Bullet and Crown Rule — the winner and the third placed runner in the Calcutta Champions’ Sprint Trophy, on January 12 this year, — was tested positive for ‘Etofylline’, also prohibited substance. Each of the three trainer was slapped with a fine of Rs 10,000. Their suspensions starts from July 16. The three horses were subsequently disqualified.
