Suryakumar Yadav, Manu Bhaker to grace All India Forest Sports Competition in Raipur

More than 3,000 participants are expected to compete in the five-day competition

The 27th All India Forest Sports Competition is set to commence in Raipur from October 16to October 20, with Indian T20 cricket team captain Surya Kumar Yadav, popularly known as 'SKY,' expected to attend the inauguration ceremony.

The event will be inaugurated at the stadium in Kota, Raipur. In a video shared on social media, Mr. Yadav expressed his excitement about attending the program and extended his best wishes to the organising committee.

Adding to the star power, Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker will attend the closing ceremony, creating a buzz among participants. Forest department employees and officers from various states are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to meet these sports icons.

Chhattisgarh chief minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai also extended his best wishes to the participants in a video message. He expressed his pleasure at the involvement of Yadav and Bhaker, noting that their presence would enhance the event’s appeal and provide inspiration for the youth and players.

Chief Forest Conservator (Human Resources) and Nodal Officer of the event, Ms. Shalini Raina, emphasised the significance of the competition, which focuses on forest protection and wildlife conservation. She noted that extensive arrangements had been made for the accommodation and participation of athletes from across the country, with events scheduled at multiple sports venues in the capital.

More than 3,000 participants are expected to compete in the five-day competition. Forest officials highlighted the continuous efforts of the department’s officers and employees to ensure the successful organisation of the prestigious event.
