Grandmaster Surya Sekhar Ganguly, along with fellow GMs RB Ramesh and Magesh Panchanathan (now settled in US), is starting an online chess training school, which gets up and running from January 1.
“Chess saw a boom in online viewing and streaming in 2020 and the figures are mindblowing. The processtraining.com is Ramesh’s brainchild and Magesh and I now are playing an active role. At this point in time names like Peter Svidler, Alexei Shirov, Pentala Harikrishna, Uzbek GM Rustam Kasimdzhanov, who was a long-time second to Viswanathan Anand during the latter’s World Championship matches, will be coaching the players,” Surya told The Telegraph on Monday. “Ramesh, Magesh and I also will be teaching the nuances of the game,” he added.
Surya informed that already 200 students have enrolled. “From beginners to Grandmasters like Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa have registered. Classes have been timed in such a way that it will both suit both Indian and US time zones.
“We have divided the students into five groups based on their Elo rankings,” Surya said.
