State units contribute to help combat coronavirus

Calcutta Rowing Club donate Rs 2 lakh, West Bengal Athletics Association contribute Rs 1 lakh

Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) secretary Snehasish Ganguly, vice-president Naresh Ojha and joint-secretary Debabrata Das contributed Rs 1 lakh each to the State Emergency Relief Fund to help combat coronavirus.

Treasurer Debasish Ganguly’s club, South Suburban, also agreed to donate a similar amount.

“In these dark days, we need to fight this pandemic shoulder to shoulder. Hence I have decided to contribute Rs 1 lakh personally to the cause. My academy 22-Yards will give a further Rs 50,000,” Snehasish said.

On Wednesday, CAB president Avishek Dalmiya had made a personal contribution of Rs 5 lakh.

Other clubs and state associations too made their share of contributions. The Calcutta Rowing Club donated Rs 2 lakh, while the West Bengal Athletics Association also decided to contribute Rs 1 lakh for the welfare of those affected.
