Sourav Banerjee was adjudged the Star of the Day at the ABP Annual Sports 2023 on Sunday.
Banerjee, who works in the finance department, bagged the top position in 100m and 200m race (male employees and spouses). He also won the third prize in 100x4 relay race (inter-department male employees). In the 75m race of female employees, Shatabdi Roy of admissiontree.in finished first with the second and third prizes going to Kamalika Bhattacharyya and Richa Roy (both from Anandabazar Patrika Online), respectively.
In the 800m walking race (male employees above 50 years), Provat Ghosh of the infrastructure section emerged as the winner. Subhasis Basak (editorial software management) and Asim Roy Chowdhury (Anandabazar Patrika Online) finished second and third, respectively.
The first prize in Basket the ball (female employees) went to Amrita Tapader (The Telegraph SBU), while Soumava Lahiri (Audience Development & Sales) shone among the men. Kausik Pal (Bengali Magazines) was the winner in the 100m race for male employees and spouses above 40 years.
