Shreyas Iyer, whose impressive run with the bat has come to a halt after he dislocated his left shoulder during the ODI against England on Tuesday, has vowed to come back stronger.

“You know what they say, the greater the setback, the stronger the comeback. I shall be back soon,” Shreyas tweeted on Thursday. “I’ve been reading your messages and have been overwhelmed by all the outpouring of love and support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone.”

The 26-year-old is set to undergo surgery and has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series against England, as well as the upcoming edition of the IPL, beginning next month.

He will be out for a minimum of four months. He has already left the bio-bubble in Pune.

Shreyas is also unlikely to play in the English County one-day tournament for Lancashire, who on Monday had announced the signing of the Mumbai cricketer.
