Sheikh Sahil, the young and talented midfielder of ATK Mohun Bagan, is sweating it out under the guidance of coach Antonio Lopez to break into the playing eleven.

Sahil is the only player from Bagan’s I-League-winning roster who is in the 27-member ISL squad.

The 20-year old player believes if he gets an opportunity, he will make it count.

“The coach asked me to take the challenge. I am trying my level best,” Sahil said.

“I have been wearing the green and maroon jersey from my U-14 days and, now, thanks to (coach) Habas Sir, I will have a chance to wear this shirt again,” he added.

Habas is known to make a star out of young footballers. Sumit Rathi was a revelation for ATK in ISL VI, and it remains to be seen what Sahil has in store this season.

“Habas Sir is pointing out my mistakes. He appreciates a good pass or tackle by me,” Sahil said.
