SC East Bengal’s woes in the Indian Super League continued as they lost 1-2 to NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) here on Tuesday.
NEUFC never really gave Robbie Fowler’s men any leeway and, though honours were even at the end of the first half, East Bengal lost the plot in the second.
Suhair Vadakkepeedika took NEUFC ahead in the 48th minute and in the 56th minute an own goal by Sarthak Golui consolidated their lead. Golui made amends by pulling one back in the 87th minute.
NEUFC now have 30 points from 19 games, level on points with FC Goa in third. East Bengal have 17 from 19.
